Nokia N900 PortraitIt seems far too often that we hear the term iPhone killer get thrown out these days. The iPhone has become the industry standard at the moment and is the phone we measure all others too. Now although many phones get mistakenly put in this category, only a few actually compare and can do justice to this title. In addition to the TP2, the Nokia N900 and Samsung Omnia 2 have recently been thrown into this group so let’s do like the Spartan King Leonidas and “put their name to the test”.

Nokia N900 KickstandThe Nokia N900 is an aesthetically pleasing device and immediately stands apart from the iPhone with its slide out keyboard. There is no tilt mechanism on it like the N97 but does come equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack. With no buttons on the front screen, the N900 leaves you with the sleek and clean look that the iPhone offers. It has great media functions and makes watching movies or listening to music a breeze.

omnia2The Samsung Omnia 2 is the predecessor to the Samsung Omnia. It sports a large 3.7 inch screen but lacks a slide out keyboard. This will attract and turn away some customers, but with the large screen they were able to add a noticeably larger keyboard than the i900. The keys are now evenly spaced which make for much easier typing. The camera is 5 megapixels which is pretty decent for a mobile phone. The camera application is very similar to that of the i900, so if you are familiar with that you will not have a problem making your way around this.
