y2k1Here is an update on the “2016 txt” glitch. The post I made previously about this issue had a fix in it to download. The “Ziggy” cab fix was not the official one from HTC. Technically it is not a fix, just a work around. But now the official fix from HTC has been release and is included below.

The excerpt below is from PPCGeeks

The patch for the Touch Pro 2, Touch Pro, Touch Diamond, and Mogul were posted up today. The Touch Pro and Touch Diamond and Mogul Patches are up on HTC’s website, but the Touch Pro 2 patch is not on their site yet.

The ziggy cab is not a fix it is a workaround. All it does is put the time and date on the text from when it was received by your phone. The phone is supposed to show when the text was sent. The official patch does this.

This fix is for Stock Sprint Roms ONLY. Also HTC, says that you will need to do a hard reset then install this cab if you have already installed the “Ziggy” work around. Ofcourse that upset alot of people who have highly customized their phones so some decided to take another route. What they did was unistall the “Ziggy” cab, soft reset, install the official fix, then soft reset one more time. After following that procedure they reported back saying it worked like a charm. I just finished doing it myself and can verify this. Download and Install Below:

the smartest and easiest way to fix this is to change the year on your phone to 2016 and everything will be straight. the only difference is that u know that it isn’t actuall 2016 but the calander is the same as 2010 and everythings right side up again.
