Well it looks like the Illuminati has come together to pool their efforts against the Hulk and banish him away in space! For most of you that are unfamiliar with the “World War Hulk” comic book from Marvel that probably went over your head, which is understandable. But I said that to reference the coming together of the major cell phone carriers to pool their efforts and make an app store to create with the super powerful Apple Store.
AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and 24 other companies have formed what they’re calling the Wholesale Applications Community, they announced Monday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.”For customers this means a broader choice of innovative applications and services available on a wider choice of devices than ever before,” the group said on its
Web site, which was online Monday morning. Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG Electronics also are part of the group.“This is tremendously exciting news for our industry and will serve to catalyse the development of a range of innovative, cross-device, cross-operator applications,” said Rob Conway, CEO of the GSM Association.

I think this is very interesting to say the least. Only time till tell if this will be enough to to give Apple a run for its money but it is a good start.
