Things that You Need To Configure once Flashed!!

1. Install carrier cab!!
At first boot u will be prompted to install your carrier cab after install u will be prompted to reboot!!

2. Configure MMS!
Verizon: Install THIS cab
Sprint: Install THIS cab

3. Setup My location and GPS!
step 1: goto start>programs> tools> quickgps!
step 2: i have all three options selected but i dont worry about roaming just make sure u hit the download button!
step 3: start>Google maps> Menu(softkey)> use GPS!!
step 4: goto the setting tab (manilla)> then to location> make sure the first throggle is “on” and HTC location service is checked!!

To fix the Calculator skin issue install THIS cab *Fixed as of 1.20.10.23

After flash run Quick GPS (located in start menu/tools folder ).I forgot to move “Tools” higher.

BUGS:
-No footprints,footcam removed from ROM.
-Some functions in Messaging Tab inactive (result of arcsoft MMS).
-Auto Volume Control removed (its not in LEO shipped exe,and I had problems with original TP2 pack)
-TP2 original x-button task manager slow on start up (its not present in LEO too…)

Here’s what’s on the menu today…

Today I’m serving up an HTC Touch Pro 2 CDMA ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of the thread.

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

• Eye candy
• Speed !!!
• Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
• Stability through private beta testing before public release

I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I’d want it. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that’s ready out of the ‘box’.

You will find a new ROM posted here every few days, as I always update them with the latest “ingredients” that come down the pipe, from either Microsoft or HTC. Because of that, I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization). I also provide an example script to use to save your email settings in one of the posts below.

You will find TWO core versions of my ROM.

• The 21889 Build is from the OEM COM2 Tree and is the most reliable and bug free release. I recommend you start with this first!

And…

• The 23518 Build that’s the latest in the 6.5.3 series with the Start/Close buttons at the bottom. These builds are not as compatible with older apps as 21885 but they reflect the latest cutting edge technology from Microsoft.

Keyboard Symbols Don’t Work / Home Key opens Start Menu!! / Button Mappings!

• Verizon – Install THIS CAB and Restart the phone! (Thanks Fronc for the ROM dump info)

MMS Fix

1. First, you must Disable Manila Messaging.
2. Then, just install the correct MMS fix:
   • Verizon – Install THIS CAB
   • Sprint – Install THIS CAB

A possible, different, better, but —in progress— solution can be seen HERE.

(CityID) Provisioning Network Selector appears after every Soft Reset! – If you do this before selecting anything in the Provisioning, then City ID will work

1. Open File Explorer (Start -> Tools -> File Explorer)
2. Navigate to \Windows\StartUp, and delete Provisioning.lnk!

Opera Mobile Fixes

• Make Opera Mobile default and enable auto-rotation with the G-Sensor: DOWNLOAD
• Only make Opera Mobile default: DOWNLOAD
• Only enable auto-rotation with the G-Sensor for Opera: DOWNLOAD

Time Zone Issues

1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Clocks & Alarms
2. Set the time zone to whatever you need!

Notification Light blinks to infinity!!!

1. Install THIS CAB first
2. And then go into Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications (tab), and now you can set the notification light options!!

ActiveSync Issues (23504 Version)

1. Go to Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB to PC
2. Uncheck the last, “Ask me first about USB….” box
3. Make sure the “ActiveSync (Sync with Outlook)” bubble is filled in.
4. You may need to restart the phone for ActiveSync to start working)

GPS Doesn’t Connect

After flashing any ROM, GPS can take a while to lock for the first time.

Enable AGPS to assist it: Start -> Utilities -> Tweaks -> Advanced Config, scroll down to and click GPS, then click on Assisted GPS, and using the drop-down menu at the bottom, Enable it. Do the Soft Reset when it prompts you to, and then your GPS should fix faster!

Also, make sure to use the HTC GPSTool, found in Start -> GPS. That will help the GPS to lock faster.

Once you do that, open Google Maps (Or your GPS program), go to Menu -> Use GPS (check the option), and then let your phone sit for 10 minutes or so. Remember, GPS doesn’t work well in big buildings. Enjoy!

Verizon was lucky enough to have Windows Mobile 6.5 released today and now some luck has been thrown towards T-mobile users as well.  Unofficially, Windows Mobile 6.5 has leaked for T-mobile.  That statement alone really speaks for itself so go ahead and download it before HTC takes it down!

what is this? – this package unlocks your Sprint phone and will enable it to use a US SIM card on a US network in your device – if you flash a non-supported (non-patched) radio over a supported one (as below), you will lose the ability (a reflash will restore it easily of course).

if you have a Verizon or Telus model, you will not need this.

WU means Worldphone Unlocked, look out for the WU on all radio
firmwares to indicate whether it’s been patched as unlocked or not! (WV = locked.)
this first radio version is 2.05.00WU and the second one is 1.96.00WU, for people who had issues with 2.05.

YOU MUST BE SECURITY UNLOCKED IN ORDER TO USE THIS!!!- if you are not Security unlocked, you will get a Flash Write Error.

1. 1.96.00WU (Sprint stock edited) -> this is the recommended version!!!
2. 2.05.00WU (USCC test edited)

again all the important notes to use this:
1. you must be security unlocked to flash this, see link above!!!!
2. the patch will not stay if you flash another radio but we’ll release patched versions for other radios from time to time (for newest radios).
3. when you flashed the radio, you need to make sure to be in GSM mode (GSM SIM inserted of course ), and if automatic network selection doesn’t work, use manual selection in phone/options to register on the network.

SIM Unlock: allows you to use any SIM in your phone, i.e. the phone recognizes and accepts the SIM without prompting you for an unlock code. it is permanent without special tinkering. no worries with warranty, no need to reverse it.

Security Unlock: this one is what you need for flashing whitestone radios or the patched sprint radio! this unlocks the entire radio and you can do with it whatever you wish.
it is permanent, to reverse it for warranty issues, you have to send a special command to the radio, here is a file to do this for you: http://hpcmonex.net/htc/secrelock.zip (run it on the phone)

CID Unlock/True SuperCID in Radio: it clears the CID in the radio (note, HardSPL also CID unlocks you in a way, but it’s only fake CID clearing) this used to be interesting in the past, on GSM devices not so interesting now. on previous CDMA devices it was very useful to be SuperCID but let’s not talk about that. I don’t know if it is still good for this model, didn’t look into it yet…
also permanent unless you set the CID to something else, again using special commands.

CID Unlock VS HardSPL: if you just need to flash cooked ROMs, HardSPL will suffice. but note, this package bundles HardSPL too for comfortability.

Sprint Patched Radio: this allows the phone to register on US networks. not permanent, if you reflash radio to an unpatched one, this gets lost.

A few notes:
1) all contact links are re-directed to iContact
2) restored default wireless manager
3) pagepool is set by defalt to 32mb
4) this is a generic carrier rom so let customization run.

-these cabs are modified so they install to the same locations as the oem versions. This way they can more easily be updated.
6) the default theme is Gloss Black. You will need to reselect in the settings in order to get the gloss bars.

I usually make 4 versions of the ROM. If you don’t see one in the download directory, it either means I haven’t uploaded it OR I’m not making one for the current release yet.

Here are the different versions and what they mean.

• “Standard” includes the new TF3D2 (Rhodium Manila) along with the standard Windows Mobile 6.5 today plugin (Titanium) and the Tachi dialer

• “Standard_RD” includes all of the above but with the Regular Dialer (HTC)

• “Titanium” only includes the Titanium today plugin. No Manila in this version. This also includes the regular HTC dialer

• “OldManila” includes the older TF3D Manila (as seen on a stock ROM), plus Titanium. This also includes the regular HTC dialer

- Bluetooth icon NOT showing up in the taskbar at the moment due to the Tachi dialer, will have a solution soon.
- If you want to disable the Tachi Dialer and use the WM dialer please use the cab I posted two posts below.

1. It’s a great ROM, but can anyone tell me how to active the Titanium view?
at10ti0n: start -> settings -> today -> Items tab -> check “windows default”, uncheck TouchFLo 3d

2. I downsized my start menu, and now it looks great and is even more user friendly. Now if I can just get File Explorer on the start menu with a better looking icon…
at10ti0n: Another thing you may want to look for it the “re/Start” program. it is floating int the forum somewhere. I cleaned up my menu and it helps to re-prioritize the items in the main window. I only wish I could change the sub/sub folders. HERE


3. I’m absolutely hating new TF3D scrolling currently. The icons when u scroll, are just too low, its too near your thumb. Is there a way, perhaps a manilla file replacement, that can put it back up a lil higher, as it was in the OLD TF3D? Shep was able to do it, but shep doesnt really reply questions : / also if it helps, showaco’s all tabs pictures cab, does solve it, making it higher. however, scrolling TF3D with showaco installed in landscaped is screwed, being off centre to the right any solutions?

6. What happened to my keyboard? If you go into the start menu, tweaks folder and use the keyboard selector.. your keboard will not function properly until you go back in select the touch pro and soft-reset. The keyboard works as default, but if you touch the setting it will not.

“Please remember folks that there are a lot of variables here and the ROM is just one of them. You may have any number of the following issues:
1) a bad flash
2) an incompatibility issue
3) a settings problem

If several people all determine that they have done XYZ and have problem ABC it may be that NRGZ can do something about it. Until such time, you have some troubleshooting to do. Namely;
1) Flash the stock ROM and spend a few days noting the behavior as you add your software
2) Flash an NRGZ ROM and use it a few days without adding software
